i struggled a lot to try to fit in school because i felt so out of place because i was from another country and i have different cultures and traditions. i tried a lot to survive in school, because school never felt right to me . i always felt like dropping out, giving up and quitting but i always had this voice in my head that says hang in there Elsie.
when i tried to fit in, it always turns out bad, i started acting rude to teachers so that other students would see how cool i was, but it never felt right after getting a detention slip from the teacher, i just felt more agitated, i felt like no matter how i tried to fit in they would never accept me as their kind. so i gave up i sticked to my culture and tradition, i respected my teachers and i passed my classes and i am proud to be an AFRICAN.
